Old door - new function
I found a door from the 1700s in the barn and decided to make a headboard for our bed.
First step was to clean the door with soap (grønnsåpe) and water, using a hard brush.
It was very dirty.
I love how the structure in the wood comes out.
Then I went to have a look in our leather chest.
We have all sorts of leather: goat, reindeer, cow, sheep and fish skins...
But I found something even better! An old belt!
And if you look closely you can see its even been "rehearsed on".
To the tools before the monkey grabs them!
Fastening the leather rims to the door using small nails and a hammer. I decided to keep the piece with the rehearsal on. Can you see it? I also kept one of the holes from the belt.
I'm very pleased with the result
Rickard's brother made and embroidered this pillow for us.
Not sure how to translate this...
But it says "Decent feces is the best pillow"
Or maybe "A good poop is the best pillow" ?
With those words, I will end this blog post.
