So much Viking stuff
A whole house dedicated to and filled with Viking gear?
Yes its possible. And absurd. And convenient. The stabbur got a new function.
Welcome to my real Viking crib.
Wool and linen
every fabric Iv'e been in.
Hand stitch - muscle twitch
yeah I made that dress bitch.
Madder and woad - once you go down that road
your nerdyness gonna explode.
Oak and stone
stroke that whale bone.
Natural materials makes my blood flow faster
The sources of the past are my master
To much is never enough
'cause in Viking gear I feel tough
How many shields and swords does it take to make a Scandinavian re-enactor happy?
Shieldcount: 18. Weaponcount: 23
Drumcount: 3
Going to war
Tarps, or cloth for sleeping shelter.
To the left - 100 % wool impregnated with horse fat mixed with ocher color pigment. Leather reinforcements.
Funny story about the horse fat, I will tell you later.
To the right - linnen. Leather reinforcements. Keeps dry if angled in the correct position.
A massive amount of Viking clothes.
Both old and new, plant dyed, natural colors, linnen and wool.
All hand stitched.
I had to set aside one huge closet dedicated to the clothes with the heaviest/richest colors.
Don't want to risk them getting sun bleached.
Four baskets of needle bound socks
And a full basket of leg wraps
WTF
And.So.Much.Viking.Stuff.
My sons tiny old Viking turnshoes.
So cute.
Does it all come in handy?
Yes in deed.
Here's a little Video we made a couple of years ago.
